Q: I have a lot of items to sell to NU2YU Baby Shop, but I do not want to wait until the monthly intake drive. What are the alternatives?
A: Great news, you don't have to wait until the intake drive date. You can bring in items to the shop either in person or with your driver. Simply first visit our 'Inventory Intake Request' menu and fill out the online intake registration form. Karen will then arrange a time which is convenient for both parties.
Q: I can only come to your shop during Fridays or Saturdays, but you are not open during these times.
A: If you absolutely can not make it during the posted hours, please contact Karen to arrange an after hours viewing.
Q: Why should I sell or consign my items to NU2YU when there are so many charities in Beijing looking for donations?
A: NU2YU is not competing with charitable organizations for your baby gear. However, there are many items people seek to pass on that orphanages or foster homes just can’t use or don’t appreciate. Dealing with NU2YU guarantees that your item is going to a person who was actively seeking that particular item. NU2YU donates a percentage of its profits annually to local charities and if you elect to do so, we guarantee that 100% of your sales commission will be donated, too.
Q: I brought some items to consign to NU2YU but my items were not accepted. Why?
A: Due to space constraints and the high quality of our customers, NU2YU is only able to accept items in the finest condition. For safety reasons, we can not accept items with missing hardware or structural flaws. If you have something you’d like to sell that we have passed over, you are welcome to post a flyer ad on the NU2YU community notice board for free.
Q: How much will I make for selling or consigning my items to NU2YU Baby Shop?
A: There are three tiers for payment. For those wanting cash up front, NU2YU buys items outright (at approximately 1/3 of what the item will resell for in the shop). Alternatively, 40% of the sale price can be paid in cash once an item is sold on consignment. NU2YU also offers 50% sale price as in-store credit, for those looking to maximize their earnings.
Q: Why would I pay 40 Yuan for a used sweater when I can buy a new one in the markets for 35 Yuan?
A: All the items accepted by NU2YU are of the highest quality and have stood the test of time. When you buy an article of clothing at NU2YU, you know it has held up in the washer/dryer and won’t shrink or bleed in the laundry.
Q: Can I bargain?
A: The price marked is the final price. NU2YU employs a “No Hassle - No Haggle” policy.
Q: Will there be sales?
A: If NU2YU feels the need to “move” items at the tail end of a season, there may be some mark downs. Occasionally, NU2YU may lower a price of a certain item if customer feed back indicates it has been over priced. However, the price marked is the sales price.
Q: Is there a membership fee?
A: No, NU2YU does not require a membership fee, nor a membership card. However, we now offer a 'customer appreciation card' which has an ID number attached to it (for tracking purposes). Moreover, if you wish to consign items, you will be given an ID number which will assist us with consignment item management logistics.
Q: I haven’t brought anything in to sell. Can I still shop at NU2YU?
A: Yes, everyone is welcome to shop at the NU2YU Baby Shop!
Q: Does NU2YU offer a pick up / delivery service?
A: If you are unable to come in to NU2YU Baby Shop, or attend any of our frequent in-take events held throughout the year in various communities, then pick up and delivery can be arranged.
Q: I have been looking for a specific item. How will I know if you have it?
A: NU2YU is constantly taking in new merchandise, so it is best to pop in to our shop often to see what is available. You can always inform us of a specific request and we will notify you once it becomes available.
Q: I bought a stroller from NU2YU and no longer need it. Can I return it?
A: Once you have finished using the item you purchased, please bring it to NU2YU and we will take it back on consignment.
Q: My husband’s company just told us we are moving in one month. I want to consign my things, but don’t have time to wait for the items to sell on consignment. Can I get my money up front?
A: Yes, NU2YU will outright buy some items, in accordance with our three tiered purchase policy.
Q: Why would I consign to you when I can post my own sign and sell it myself?
A: Quite simply, most of us don’t have the time to deal with phone calls from non-serious buyers or arrange for people to come by and inspect. NU2YU relieves you of the hassle while allowing you to earn some cash, too!
Q: What are my options if NU2YU does not accept my items, as I don’t have space to store the items and I don’t know of any charities needing them?
A: If we feel that we can not accept your items, you can either take them away, or leave them with NU2YU and we will forward them on to a reputable charity organization in Beijing.
Q: Does NU2YU accept maternity wear?
A: Yes, NU2YU has a wide selection of casual/formal/office 'gently used' and new/designer maternity items for sale. All items are closely inspected before hitting the rack for rips, holes, missing parts, stains, pilling, and general wear and tear. We also accept maternity clothes which are in very good to new condition, all seasons and sizes.
Q: I bought a change table for a friend as a gift and realized afterwards that she had already been given one. Can I return it for a full cash refund?
A: If you have the receipt and it is within 7 days of purchase, we will gladly refund you the total amount as in store credit only. NU2YU does not refund cash.
Q: I want to use my credit card in one of your stores, is this possible?
A: Currently, NU2YU only accepts RMB cash. But, if you want to use your swipe or credit card, there is an ICBC bank machine (local/international cards accepted) within a 1 min walk from the shop.
Q: What about items for teenagers, does NU2YU accept clothes and sports equipment for kids in high school?
A: NU2YU only deals with gently used baby essentials for kids from newborn through to about 12 years of age. However you are most welcome to place an ad flyer on our community notice board for free.
Q: We are having visitors and they don't want to bring their bulky baby equipment. Does NU2YU rent baby gear?
A: Yes, many of the items in NU2YU can be rented. Please contact us to make arrangements.
Q: I am an internet shopper and have checked out the NU2YU website. How come you don't post pictures of what's available on-line?
A: Thank you for checking out www.nu2yubabyshop.com. We are currently working on making our inventory available online, but in the meantime either drop by the shop or send us an email, and we will furnish you with a photo of the item upon request.
